Inishowen 'angels' raise €13,000
for charity

A GROUP of local
'angels' took to the Inishowen 100 recently on their
motorbikes to raise money for charity. |

The 35 bikers and two
quad-bikers set out on their journey from
Greencastle on March 16. The charity motorcycle
ride, for the East Inishowen Special Needs group was
organised by Greencastle's Owen Doyle and the group
was affectionately nicknamed, 'Doyle's Angels'.
"We set out from Greencastle at |

at 10am and stopped at
the Halfway House in Burnfoot for a good hearty
'Bikers' Breakfast'," explained Owen. "Then we
carried on doing the rest of the Inishowen 100 and
arrived back around 3.30pm in Greencastle where
Margaret Kealey put us up some lovely stew." |
'Doyle's Angels' were
mainly from Inishowen but were joined by a number of
pals from Sligo and Derry. The bikers ranged in age
from 30 up to 60 and they also had the help of a
friend who drove a jeep in the event of a breakdown.
They had just one, said Owen.
The bikers managed to raise a total of €13,560 for
the East Inishowen Special Needs group which
recently secured planning permission to build a new

complex at Malin Road,
Moville. "We're delighted to have raised so much
money and we would like to thank everyone who
contributed including the Halfway and Kealey's Bar
who supplied the food," added Owen. |
