Fine Gael goes fishing in
Inishowen
01.02.08
FINE Gael is seeking
new people in Inishowen to join the party with the
aim of increasing its councillor tally, the recent
agm of the Michael Collins Buncrana Branch was told.
The party stressed it was "operating an open-door
policy" for anyone keen to sign up and said it was
now firmly focused on increasing its representation
on Donegal County Council. |

A number of issues were
raised at the meeting held at the Inishowen Gateway
Hotel including concerns that no money was
forthcoming from the local authority for the upgrade
of Cockhill Bridge. Another major issue on the night
was fears for the future of the Buncrana-Rathmullan
Ferry.
Addressing the crowd, Deputy Joe McHugh insisted he
would question the relevant authorities in relation
to all their concerns. He also assured them he would
continue working for the Inishowen area. A new board
for the Michael Collins Branch for 2008 was elected
at the agm. |
They are chairperson,
Monica McLaughlin; vice chair, Una Sheridan;
secretary John O’Riordan; treasurer, Willie Grant
and assistant treasurer, George Porter. The party
also extended deepest sympathies to the family and
friends of the late Sean Tighe, who was described as
"an integral member" of the Micheal Collins Buncrana
Branch. |
