Rebel, what’s your cause?
14.11.08
THE musical tastes of
Inishowen's different generations are to come under
scrutiny in a new four-part radio series on
Inishowen Community Radio (ICRfm). Producer Kevin
McGrath has gone into the homes of four local
families and recorded their favourite choices of
musical entertainment. Kevin, a well known local DJ,
said the idea for the show came from his own active
interest in music. |
|
“In my own household
there’s always music coming from at least three
different rooms. My job means that I have a wide
knowledge of and varied taste in music, both past
and present, so can appreciate what my children
listen to," said Kevin.
"I wondered, though, how it is for other families
throughout the place where parents don’t have such |
similar tastes and
perhaps aren’t as familiar with the current charts."
The objective of the series entitled 'Rebel, what's
your cause?', is to show the similarities between
parents and their children through music.
The families to feature include mother and daughter
Christine and Nikita McGrath; Mary Quinn and son
John Carl; Maurice and Deirdre McNally and Ciara
Kennedy.
It begins on ICRfm on Thursday, November 13 and the
series will run each Thursday until December 4 at
9.10am being repeated again the same night at
7.10pm. The series was funded by the Broadcasting
Commission of Ireland under the Sound and Vision
Scheme. So tune in to 105 or 107.6 FM or listen
