THE men of Inishowen
are invited to a night of fun and information about
what they can do to mind their health.
Donegal Action for Cancer Care (DACC) have organised
an evening entitled 'You Men, Be Good to Yourselves"
on Tuesday, May 13, at 8pm in the Mount Errigal
Hotel, Letterkenny.
It is a response to how some men feel about a lack
of support regarding their health.
DACC acknowledges that much of the emphasis about
cancer and health issues is placed on women's
health. The group now wants to provide opportunities
for men in a comfortable, safe and light-hearted
environment.
On the night, representatives from Letterkenny
General Hospital will talk on both
bowel and prostate cancer while there will also be
items on nutrition, relaxation and appearance.
"A very important part of looking after ourselves is
a bit of humour so Fergus Cleary will be there to
add not only to the discussion on men's health but
to tell a tall tale or two," said a DACC
spokesperson.
"This is your opportunity as men to come along on
your own or with friends to gain information,
support and meet other men. That problem that you
feel you have may not be as big when you find there
are many more men feeling exactly the same." |
