PREPARATIONS are well
underway for the upcoming production of 'Oliver'
which opens in St Mary’s Hall, Buncrana, at the end
of the month.
Cast and crew have been working hard over the last
few months and are "very excited" having just
completed their first full run through of the show
during rehearsals last weekend.
"This promises to be a spectacular show with a
highly talented cast, some of whom are taking on
principal roles for the first time alongside a few
familiar faces," said a spokesperson for the
producers, Greasepaint Productions.
"The professionalism of the musicians and creative
team ensure that the music, set, props, lighting and
costumes all contribute to the overall atmosphere of
this very unique production."
The last time a musical was performed in St Mary’s
Hall was 'Oklahoma' over 45 years ago. The producers
now hope their production of 'Oliver' will revive an
appetite for musical theatre in the seaside town and
compliment the ever popular annual pantomime.
The musical will run from Thursday, October 30 until
Saturday, November 8.
Evening performances will commence at 8pm with
weekend matinees at 2.30pm. However, there will be
no performances on Friday or Sunday night as the
parish bingo continues as normal.
The box office opens on Saturday, October 11 at St
Mary’s Hall from Monday to Saturday 11am to 2pm and
5pm until 7pm. You can also make reservations on 086
