PRESCHOOLS in Buncrana
and Carndonagh are among six in Donegal North East
to get grants under a Government childcare fund.
Michelle's Childcare in Carndonagh is to get €23,400
while St. Oran's Preschool in Buncrana will get
€18,000.
The money is from the National Childcare Investment
Programme and is designed to help with building
work, refurbishment or new equipment.
The biggest beneficiary in the latest allocation is
Glen School for Early Learning in Glenswilly which
is to get €100,000. Naonri Leitir Ceanainn,
Letterkenny, will get €20,000 while Scoil Naomh
Fiachra, Illistrin, Letterkenny will receive
€20,000.
Donegal North East T.D., Deputy Niall Blaney
welcomed the funding and congratulated those to
receive grants.
“This funding will allow these childcare providers
to undertake much-needed capital projects such as
building works or refurbishment of facilities. It
will also allow for the purchase of new equipment,"
he said.
“The chief objective of this funding is to create
new childcare places and to assist parents to access
affordable, quality facilities for their children
close to home." |
