ROAD safety campaigners
from both sides of the border will speak at a major
two-day conference next month aimed at reducing the
number of crashes in border areas.
Speakers will include people with their own stories
of personal tragedy who will address the seminar on
May 1 and May 2 at the Clanree Hotel in Letterkenny. |
|
"Some of the speakers have taken personal tragedies
and turned them into positive action," said a
spokesperson for the Donegal Road Safety group.
"Often people feel helpless at a time of loss and
many feel that somebody should be doing something
about the carnage on our roads." |
To coincide with the event, a schools' essay
competition has been organised for all students in
Donegal aged 16 or over. The winner of the
competition will be invited to read their essay to
conference delegates while there are prizes of €250,
€200 and €100 also up for grabs.
Registration for the conference can be done through
the website
www.donegalroadsafetyconference.com or at
the hotel on the day. For further details email
donegalroadsafetyconference@gmail.com or

The conference is open to everybody. |
