A SPECIAL Mass for
young people in the diocese who have died through
accidents, suicide, violence or illness will be
celebrated at the weekend.
Bishop Francis Lagan will celebrate the Mass in Holy
Family Church, Ballymagroarty, Derry, on Sunday,
November 9 at 3pm.
"At this Mass all deceased young people will be
remembered. They may have died as a result of an
accident, suicide, violence, illness, addictions or
other causes of death," said a diocesan
spokesperson. "They may have died in infancy, as a
toddler, in their teenage years or as a young man or
woman. Some will have died very recently and some
many years ago. All will be remembered and prayed
for in this Mass, so also will their families and
friends and all those who are grieving."
People attending will have the opportunity to record
the name of the young person they have come to
remember. Rejoice, the Diocesan Youth Choir, will
provide the beautiful music for the Liturgy.
Everyone is welcome and there will be refreshments
available after the ceremony. |
