TIME IS running out to
get behind Inishowen's very own supermodel Michelle
Doherty in her bid to win an Irish Film and
Television Award (IFTA).
Michelle, 31, is up for a People's Choice Award for
presenting Night Shift, the alternative music show
on Channel 6. |
Her IFTA blurb reads:
"Michelle Doherty is a relative newcomer to
television presenting. However, in the two years
that she has been hosting Night Shift, the show has
developed a loyal nightly following. Through a
combination of great music and Michelle’s relaxed
but informative style - Hot Press readers have voted
Night Shift the best music show on television."
The second eldest child of Ann and Sean Doherty of
Ballysalla, Glengad, Malin, she got her big break
while working in Dublin as an air stewardess with
Aer Lingus. She has been with the Morgan modelling
agency since 1999 and is regularly rebooked by
clients who regard not only her great looks but also

personality.
Michelle is up against seven other nominees vying
for the People's Choice gong including UTV's
continuity announcer Julian Simmons, RTE's No
Frontiers presenter Kathryn Thomas and TV3 fashion
presenter, Lorraine Keane. The competition is tough,
so make our Michelle your number one.
