Return of Big Bus cancer screening
19.06.08
Donegal Action For
Cancer Care (DACC) is bringing Action Cancer's
mobile healthcare unit, the 'Big Bus', back to Derry
in September.
The Big Bus provides an array of services for people
affected by cancer including reflexology,
aromatherapy, massage and touch therapy as well as a
'Listening Ear' service to give emotional and
practical support to people dealing with cancer
including patients, relatives, carers and close
friends. |
|
The Big Bus also offers
health checks to males and females aged 18+ years
including BMI, cholesterol, blood pressure, lung
capacity, facial skin scanner analysis as well as
advice on self examination, health and lifestyle. |
Using the latest
digital mammography technology, females aged between
40-49 years and over 65 years can receive a
mammogram on board with results processed within
three weeks. Women must be asymptomatic or have not
recently had a mammogram.
The service is free of charge to the end user but
Action Cancer relies on donations to provide vital
services to the community and donations onboard will
be greatly appreciated by the charity.
The 'Big Bus' and DACC will be at Brunswick
Superbowl car park, Springtown, Derry on September 4
and September 5, 2008.
To make an appointment for any of the above dates
please call 048 9080 3344 giving DACC as your
