A DELEGATION from
Donegal will take part next month in Dublin Design
Week 2007.
The trip has been organised by the Donegal Design
Directorate Accel Project which aims to improve the
competitiveness of Donegal companies. |
|
Among the highlights of
the visit will be a branding workshop at the
Guinness Storehouse. Other features will be the
Irish Design Institute’s annual Design Awards
Exhibition; a Design Exhibition in the Digital Hub
near St. James’ Gate and a design show at the Royal
Irish Academy, followed by a networking dinner.
Membership of the Donegal Design Directorate has
climbed to 70 local firms in less than a year.
Manager Aisling Lynch said the Dublin visit |
would be a useful
promotion and networking event.
“This is a great opportunity for local companies to
see the latest in Irish design trends and to learn
how they can use brands to grow their business”, she
said. “The previous best-practice visits have
created a lot of business opportunities and we think
the Dublin trip could be the most successful yet."
Meanwhile, the directorate will host a ‘Design on
Film’ event on Wednesday, November 7, in the
Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny. The three
short films, including one by veteran film director
Sidney Pollack and another on the architect Frank
Gehry, will be followed by a wine reception.
The Dublin visit costs €200 per person. To register
