A BUNCRANA councillor
is incensed this week after discovering his
complaints relating to how the local authority
upgrades its housing stock were not recorded on the
minutes of last month's meeting. |
|
Cllr. Joe Doherty
called for an investigation in September into whose
function it was to decide what repairs were needed
to homes and how much money was to be spent on each
project.
He alleged that an inordinate amount was spent doing
up one particular property when other tenants in the
town were promised repairs.
Assistant county manager, Liam Kelly promised an
investigation into the matter.
However, Cllr. Doherty was angered on Wednesday to
learn that his initial concerns weren't even
recorded in the minutes, |
according to a report
on Highland Radio.
He has now threatened to report the matter to the
Comptroller and Auditor General.
He also renewed his warning to bring the case to
Housing Minister Noel Ahern. The Fianna Fail
councillor has been given assurances that his
concerns would be recorded on the minutes of the
October 17th meeting. |
