Buncrana Town
Council has been allocated €2 million to build local
authority housing.
New houses will also be provided in other Inishowen
towns following an allocation of €40 million in
capital funding to Donegal County Council.
The €39.73m will cover the cost of providing 450
homes. Some are currently under construction while
other schemes are about to start.
Housing developments are currently underway at more
than 26 locations across the county. A similar
number is expected to start later this year.
The latest allocation will see €30 million spent on
housing construction by Donegal County Council with
an additional €1.22 million spent on its central
heating programme
Meanwhile, €5 million will be allocated to
Letterkenny Town Council's local authority housing
programme with €1.5 million allocated to the same
programme in Bundoran.
