Inishowen writers in 'Earls'
book

PUPILS from across
Inishowen are among 99 young writers to be published
in a new book of prose and poetry 'WordFlight'
commemorating the Flight of the Earls. |
The writers, aged 8 to
17, are from Moville Community College; Scoil Naomh
Brid, Muff; St, Aengus N.S., Bridgend and St.
Patrick’s Girl’s N.S., Carndonagh.
Their names will be revealed at the WordFlight
Literary Showcase at An Grianan Theatre,
Letterkenny, on Saturday, September 8th, 2007.
The event will also comprise readings from some of
the published works as well as a prizegiving.
The local students took part in creative writing
workshops facilitated by Artists in Creative
Enterprise (ACE). |
The WordFlight
workshops and book commemorate the 400th Anniversary
commemorations of the 99 people who fled by boat
from Rathmullan into exile in 1607.
ACE director Patrick Kearney told InishowenNews.com:
"The literary gift of the 3000 young people
worldwide who took part in 'WordFlight' this past
year, will be celebrated through their deserving
book launch, readings and prizegiving." |
