Junior Cert results for 2,168 Donegal teens 12.09.07

There will be butterflies in 2,168 Donegal tummies today as students receive their Junior Certificate results.
And those getting results are being advised to "celebrate responsibly".
Donegal North East T.D., Deputy Niall Blaney congratulated the students but advised them to look after themselves.
Deputy Blaney also urged the proprietors of off licences, bars and supermarkets to be extra vigilant to underage drinking.
“This is a milestone in any young person’s life and I would like to express my sincere congratulations to all involved,” he said.
“But I would also like to urge them to celebrate responsibly. Too often we hear stories of how such nights can be ruined by alcohol.
“Junior Certificate students are not yet the legal age to drink alcohol yet this night is traditionally associated with unfortunate incidents in which young people drink too much."
Deputy Blaney also appealed for parents to keep an eye on their children.
"It may also be a good time for parents to address the issue with their children and shopkeepers and staff in licensed premises should also be extra vigilant this week in selling alcohol.
"We must all share the responsibility of ensuring that the young people in our community do not get tangled in the web of alcohol misuse,” he added.
