'Speed up Inishowen
schools build'
28.11.07
SENATOR Cecilia
Keaveney has called on the Education Minister to
allow Inishowen schools proceed to construction as
soon as possible. |
|
Senator Keaveney, who
is Seanad education spokesperson, said schools in
Moville and Clonmany that were recently given the
go-ahead should now move swiftly to building stage.
"A fundamental in everyone’s life is the right to
education. When I was made Seanad spokesperson on
this I made it clear that it is one of the basic
rights," said Senator Keaveney.
"I realise the pressures on the Minister due to
areas of significant growth that are putting demands
on her resources for primary school buildings. |
I outlined that, for
the small number of schools involved, there has been
a long road to achieve the status that they had
gained and their needs were real and pressing.
"The Minister listened attentively and has indicated
she will be in a position to know more after the
forthcoming budget," she added. |
