ULTRA distance runner
Helena Crossan travels to the US today to represent
Ireland at the World 50m Trail Running Championships
in Texas.
She will be the only female participant from Ireland
competing in the prestigious event.
Speaking before one of the biggest challenges in her
long and distinguished athletics career, the
Carndonagh runner said she was "very relaxed".
While not having the same volume of work completed
as she had for the World 100k (62.2 miles) in
September, she remained very confident of a strong
performance.
Crossan gained her selection for the Texan event as
a result of her 10th place finish at the World 100k
Championships in Holland in September. |
